Mylar's was founded back in the 1940's by Robert Mylar and we've been in the same location ever since. Rob Lake, the current owner and manager, took over from his father, Bob Lake, in the early 90's. Bob had worked at Mylar's since the 50's and Rob has worked at Mylar's since the 70's. Even though Robert Mylar sold the business the 80's, we've kept the name that the Montrose community has grown to know and trust for the past 70 years.
Our mission is defined by our customers. If the customer is happy, we can be assured we've done a good job on your repair. To do that, we've kept up with the latest technology in the industry, adding most recently aluminum repair equipment and state-of-the-art waterborne paint from Glasurit. We believe in exceeding industry standards, which is why we've invested in the education of our employees. In 2016 we achieved I-CAR Gold Class, the standard for continuing education in the automotive repair business.
Our commitment is to always deliver a high-quality repair the first time, on-time. We also promise to keep you informed of the repair process every step of the way so there are no surprises at the curb. We also recognize our impact on the environment, which is why we've chosen Glasurit waterborne paint, the safest choice for our world. We also recycle all steel, aluminum, radiators, and cardboard. We love beautiful Colorado and are committed to keeping it that way for future generations.
